Our filter coffee Rwanda Shyira presents itself with berry and floral notes, reminiscent of white tea, red apple, and raspberry.
The green coffee comes from the Shyira Washing Station in Rwanda's Nyabihu District. The station is considered one of the highest in the region and is operated by the Muraho Trading Company, founded in 2016 by the brothers Karthick and Gaudam. In May 2024, Plotcoffee visited the station and was able to witness firsthand the meticulous care with which manager Hagumimana Evaristo and his team process the coffee.
The beans of the Red Bourbon variety grow at an altitude of 1850 to 2300 meters. The Shyira station focuses on innovative sustainability and extremely meticulous quality control in its processing. After harvesting, the beans are dried on special beds for 30 to 35 days and continuously monitored to preserve their typical, clear aromas. We source this sustainably produced coffee through Plotcoffee.
