The Subscale is a small sensation from the company Subminimal. Precision scales are plentiful, and dosing beakers even more so. Before the Subscale, no one had perfected this combination. The design is très chic, the practicality outstanding, and the technical features exactly as one would expect.
The Subscale is essentially a 2-in-1 solution specifically designed for single dosing. Instead of laboriously weighing beans on a scale and then transferring them to a separate container, you do everything in one step. You weigh the beans directly in the cup, tip them into the grinder, and then collect the ground coffee with the Subscale. Thanks to its curved shape, the coffee grounds can then be transferred cleanly and directly into the portafilter or filter paper.
When switched off, the Subscale gives no indication of its intelligence. Only when touched does the hidden LED display come to life and show the weight with an accuracy of 0.1 g.
Made from Tritan, a very robust plastic, the mug is not only food-safe but also extremely resistant to breakage and scratches. With its IPX-4 certification, the electronics are also protected against splashes of water – you can even pour your coffee back into the mug and drink or transfer it from there. It charges conveniently via USB-C, and the 400mAh battery lasts for many weeks of coffee enjoyment.
