Delivery times

Unless a different deadline is specified in the respective offer, the goods will be delivered within Germany (Germany) within 3-5 days after conclusion of the contract (if advance payment has been agreed, after the time of your payment order). The delivery time to other EU countries can be up to 8 days.

Those who collect their own items can pick up their order during regular opening hours (Friday 3 PM to 6 PM).

Please note that there is no delivery on Sundays and public German holidays. If you have ordered items with different delivery times, we will send the goods in one shipment, unless we have made different agreements with you. In this case, the delivery time is determined by the item with the longest delivery time that you ordered.

We roast our coffee beans ourselves and fresh every week. We select the green coffee carefully. This means: Before we decide on a coffee, we test and taste it extensively. For this purpose, our import partners provide us with samples, so-called samples.

To ensure consistently high quality, we check all fresh roasts in weekly cuppings. This ensures that your coffee beans always taste the way they should.

Processing Method

Washed Processing

Washed processing is the most common form of coffee processing. The coffee cherries are placed in so-called depulpers directly after harvesting. This is how it works: ripe and unripe coffee cherries are pressed against a sieve in a rotating drum by centrifugal force. With the right pressure, the softer flesh (also known as pulp) of the ripe cherries is released and the beans waft through the sieve. The hard pulp of the unripe coffee cherries is not released and remains in the drum of the machine.

Bourbon Variety

Coffea arabica var. bourbon is known for its very good flavor potential, is tall-growing and produces coffee beans of average size. It was mainly cultivated on the island of La Réunion in the 19th century. The name Bourbon derives from the noble family of the same name to which King Louis XIII belonged. He ruled France from 1610 to 1643. At that time and until the 19th century, French settlers forced their slaves on the island to cultivate vanilla, sugar cane and coffee.

The well-known name of Bourbon vanilla also dates back to this time, when the island was the main exporter of vanilla spices. With the February Revolution of 1848, slavery was officially abolished on the island. However, sugar, coffee and vanilla continued to be cultivated and exported. Today, coffee cultivation hardly plays a role on the island.

Coffee from Colombia

After Brazil and Vietnam, Colombia is the third largest coffee producer in the world and tops the list of producers of the Arabica variety. The coffee plant was brought to Colombia around 1790 and has been cultivated in the South American country ever since, particularly along the Andes. That's where the Coffee axis is, which is also called the coffee triangle, in which coffee is grown at 1200 to 2000 meters altitude. The coffee triangle has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2011.

We source our green coffee from Nikolai Fürst, who lives in Colombia and works with several farmers. In 2023, Philip Weller visited several farms together with Nikolai and also got to know Omar Arango Tinoco, who has been growing coffee on Finca San Luis since the 70s.
